SKINBOOSTER AFTER SUMMER : WHY GET ONE ?

Dernière mise à jour : 4 September 2026

After summer, the skin may look drier, duller or more marked by fine lines. Sunlight, heat and sun exposure can impair its quality and accentuate dehydration signs. Skinbooster injections may then be offered to improve skin hydration, suppleness and radiance. However, they cannot treat sun spots, volume loss or significant sagging.

Why does the skin look drier after summer ?

Repeated exposure to sunlight and heat can encourage dehydration and weaken the skin barrier.
After summer, the skin may therefore seem drier, less supple and less radiant. Dehydration lines sometimes become more visible, particularly where skin is especially thin.
But sunlight’s effects are not limited to dehydration. Repeated ultraviolet exposure also contributes to photoageing, with gradual collagen damage and pigmentation spots appearing.
It is therefore important to distinguish simply dehydrated skin, which may improve relatively quickly, from genuine sun damage requiring different care.

Why have a Skinbooster after summer ?

Skinbooster is particularly valuable after summer because the skin often lacks hydration, suppleness or radiance at this time of year.
It contains lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid intended to improve skin quality without creating volume.
Through its ability to retain water, hyaluronic acid helps improve skin hydration. The skin may gradually look smoother, more supple and more luminous.
Skinbooster is therefore indicated when the main concern is skin quality after summer rather than facial volume or contours.

What can a Skinbooster actually improve after summer ?

Skinbooster mainly improves hydration, radiance and superficial fine lines linked to skin quality.
When dehydrated, skin may look creased, dull and less smooth. By improving hydration, Skinbooster makes the surface more even and can soften certain fine lines.
Improvement is gradual and does not change facial features. Skinbooster is not intended to increase lip, cheekbone or cheek volume.
Its action primarily concerns the skin itself rather than facial volume.

Does Skinbooster repair sun damage ?

Skinbooster can improve dehydrated skin quality after summer, but does not repair all ultraviolet damage.
Repeated sun exposure gradually causes changes in collagen, elastin and pigmentation. This is called photoageing.
Skinbooster mainly acts on hydration and certain skin quality parameters. It therefore cannot erase all changes caused by sun exposure.
Sun protection remains essential after injections and throughout the year.

Does Skinbooster remove spots that appeared during summer ?

No. Skinbooster is not a treatment for pigmentation spots.
After summer, solar lentigines, spots or certain complexion irregularities may appear or become more visible. Injected hyaluronic acid, Skinbooster, does not act on this pigmentation.
Depending on their origin, certain spots can be treated with suitable peels or lasers.
However, their nature must be identified by a doctor before any treatment.

Skinbooster, mesotherapy or PRP after summer : which should you choose ?

The choice between Skinbooster, mesotherapy and PRP primarily depends on the concern to correct and intended result.
Skinbooster mainly aims to improve hydration and skin quality.
Mesotherapy involves multiple superficial injections of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid combined with other active ingredients. It may be offered to improve skin hydration and radiance.
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is prepared from the patient’s own blood. Platelets release growth factors involved in tissue repair and remodelling mechanisms.
Indications may therefore be similar, but these treatments use different products and work differently.

Is one Skinbooster session enough after summer ?

One Skinbooster session can already improve skin hydration and appearance. Depending on the product used, skin condition and intended result, one to three sessions may be needed.

The protocol varies according to the Skinbooster used and patient needs. There is therefore no identical session count for everyone.
Maintenance sessions may then be offered to preserve results over time.

When do you see Skinbooster results ?

Skinbooster results appear gradually over the weeks following injections.
During the first few days, small papules, slight swelling, redness or bruising may be visible at injection points. These temporary reactions are not the treatment result.
Once they disappear, the skin may gradually look better hydrated, more supple and more luminous.
Timing varies according to the product and protocol used. Results should therefore not be judged immediately after the session.

Can you have a Skinbooster on still-tanned skin ?

Yes. Skinbooster injections can be performed on tanned skin because tanning is not a contraindication to this treatment.
Unlike some lasers or peels, recent sun exposure does not increase Skinbooster-related pigmentation complication risk.
However, injections must be postponed in cases of sunburn, significant irritation, inflammation or skin infection. Complete healing is needed before treatment.
Skinbooster particularly improves skin hydration but does not correct damage caused by excessive sun exposure.

Can Skinbooster, peels and laser be combined after summer ?

Yes. Skinbooster, peels and lasers can be combined after summer when the skin has several concerns requiring different treatments.
Skinbooster mainly improves skin hydration and quality. Peels and certain lasers can treat spots, textural irregularities or certain photoageing signs.
These treatments can therefore complement each other when skin has dehydration, spots and uneven texture together.
Treatment order and session intervals depend on the techniques used and skin condition.

When is Skinbooster not the right treatment after summer ?

Skinbooster is not indicated when the main concern is not hydration or skin quality.
Volume loss instead requires volumising hyaluronic acid. Expression lines are better addressed by botulinum toxin. Pigmentation spots may be treated with certain lasers or peels. Significant facial sagging cannot be corrected with a Skinbooster.
After summer, dull skin is therefore not automatically a Skinbooster indication. First determine whether lost radiance is linked to dehydration, spots, photoageing, volume loss or sagging.

How should you care for your skin after summer in Geneva ?

After summer, care should be chosen according to observed skin changes : dehydration, pigmentation spots, volume loss or sagging.
Dehydrated, dull skin may benefit from treatment restoring hydration : Skinboosters. However, spots appearing or becoming more pronounced during summer need specific treatment. Volume loss or sagging cannot be corrected with a Skinbooster.
In Geneva, medical examination identifies summer’s effects on the skin and determines whether Skinbooster is indicated or another treatment is more appropriate.
