MESOTHERAPY NECK : HYDRATION OF THE NECK

Dernière mise à jour : 09 July 2026

What is mesotherapy for the
neck?

Aesthetic mesotherapy is a medical technique improving skin quality through very superficial dermal injections. It locally administers substances recognised for hydrating, nourishing and biostimulating properties. Unlike cross-linked hyaluronic acid or botulinum toxin injections, mesotherapy does not alter volume or freeze expressions: it improves skin quality, hydration and radiance.
Products are biocompatible and rigorously selected for clinical effectiveness and excellent tolerability.
Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, present in the mixture and naturally in the body, plays a central role through its exceptional ability to retain water in tissues. It restores deep hydration, improves elasticity and plumps skin. Vitamins, trace elements and antioxidants work together to stimulate fibroblasts, increase collagen synthesis and protect against oxidative damage.

WHAT THE STUDIES SAY
01

A multicentre randomised trial involving 188 participants compared two composite solutions of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid for neck wrinkles after three sessions four weeks apart. Four weeks after the final session, response rates were 88.3% and 85.1% on the wrinkle assessment scale used. The trial showed comparable effectiveness of the two formulations. These findings apply to the products studied, without comparison with an untreated group.

02

A multicentre randomised study involving 48 women compared a combination of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid filling and mesotherapy with a botulinum toxin injection for horizontal neck lines. The combined protocol produced greater improvements in wrinkles and satisfaction at assessments up to ten months. These findings apply to the combination of the two techniques and cannot be attributed to mesotherapy alone.

03

A clinical study involving 15 participants assessed an amino acid-enriched hyaluronic acid solution administered by mesotherapy in the neck. At sixty days, 33.3% of participants considered their appearance very much improved and 46.6% much improved. Satisfaction was high among most participants. These encouraging findings apply to the formulation and protocol studied in a small open-label study without a control group.

Neck mesotherapy in Geneva:
treatment to revitalise
neck skin

The neck reveals skin ageing because it is often neglected in skincare routines. Its thin skin, with few sebaceous glands and exposure to external aggressors, quickly loses firmness, elasticity and uniformity. Horizontal wrinkles, laxity, crepey skin and dullness can appear from the forties, sometimes earlier. Aesthetic neck mesotherapy now offers an effective, non-invasive medical solution for smoother, firmer, more radiant and visibly younger skin.
In Geneva, Dr Romano offers personalised protocols adapted to skin characteristics, age and expectations. Superficial injections combine non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and revitalising agents. This improves skin quality, stimulates cellular activity and restores natural physiological skin functions.

Why does the neck age faster
and differently?

Neck skin is thin, low in collagen and elastin fibres, and constantly exposed to movement and UV rays. With fewer sebaceous glands than facial skin, it is more vulnerable to dehydration and laxity. Horizontal wrinkles, vertical folds, loss of firmness and the crepey appearance typical of mature skin develop over time. Pigmentation or reduced radiance may also occur.
Neck mesotherapy corrects these physiological changes by directly supplying skin cells with missing elements. By improving dermal structure and function, it provides visible, natural, gradual results.

Indications for mesotherapy of the
neck

Neck mesotherapy is intended for patients wishing to:

  • Soften wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Improve mild to moderate skin laxity.
  • Restore density to thin, crepey or dehydrated skin.
  • Improve complexion and skin quality.
  • Prevent neck skin ageing.

It suits both men and women from 30 or 35, to prevent or correct visible ageing.

What happens during a neck mesotherapy session in Geneva

The consultation starts with a thorough medical assessment. Dr Romano analyses skin quality, ageing type, specific expectations and possible contraindications. A personalised strategy is then defined according to age, tissue quality and goals.
The session takes place at the practice under strict safety and aseptic conditions. An anaesthetic cream may be applied around thirty minutes beforehand if needed, although injections are generally well tolerated.
Extremely fine needles or an appropriate medical device deposit tiny quantities into the superficial neck dermis. The minimally invasive technique leaves no scars and interrupts no activities. Mild redness or small papules may occasionally remain visible for a few hours but disappear quickly.

Recommended session frequency and number

For optimal results, three to five initial sessions spaced fifteen days to one month apart are generally advised. This phase improves dermal quality for lasting visible results. Maintenance every three to six months, according to the patient's profile, preserves effects.

Effects appear gradually, reflecting natural skin regeneration. Neck skin becomes smoother, better hydrated and more radiant. The complexion becomes more uniform, fine lines soften and skin density and tone improve.
Patients often describe less tightness and dryness, with a visibly younger appearance. Mesotherapy also enhances previous aesthetic treatments, including cross-linked hyaluronic acid injections, Skinboosters or photorejuvenation laser.

Neck rejuvenation with mesotherapy

Neck mesotherapy and biorevitalisation are gentle, non-invasive techniques ideal for improving skin ageing signs. They provide deep, lasting dermal hydration and visibly improve skin quality, complexion and firmness. Suitable for preventing and correcting ageing, they suit different skin types and all ages. No recovery time or interruption to everyday activities is required.

Contraindications and precautions

Like any medical procedure, neck mesotherapy requires precise medical history assessment. As a precaution, it is contraindicated with allergy to an injected component, local skin infection, active autoimmune disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Patients with healing disorders, keloid history or very reactive skin require particular vigilance.
The procedure is minimally invasive and recovery generally straightforward. Mild redness, papules or small bruises may occur at injection sites and disappear spontaneously within hours or days. Avoid intense sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, intense exercise or aggressive cosmetics for 24 to 48 hours to protect skin and limit inflammation. A soothing moisturiser supports recovery. Broad-spectrum sunscreen is also recommended because skin is temporarily more sensitive.
In the following days, avoid products containing acids or exfoliating agents.

What are the indications for
neck mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is particularly suitable for people noticing reduced neck skin quality who do not want intensive or invasive treatment. It suits those seeking natural, gradual improvement without radical change or social downtime. It is also recommended preventively for younger skin to delay visible ageing.
Choosing an experienced doctor is essential for safe, effective and precise treatment. Dr Romano favours personalisation based on rigorous clinical analysis, high-quality products and injections using a mesotherapy gun. Each skin is different, so treatment is tailored for the best results.

Is mesotherapy effective
for treating the neck?

Mesotherapy is particularly effective for the neck because it directly addresses mechanisms responsible for ageing in this fragile area. Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids provide lasting dermal hydration, stimulate natural collagen synthesis and strengthen skin structure. Unlike creams acting only on the surface, mesotherapy acts deeply where fibroblasts responsible for firmness and elasticity are located. It smooths fine lines, restores tissue density and produces smoother, more supple, radiant skin. Gradual, lasting effects make it a preferred solution for preventing or correcting early neck ageing. Combined with botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid, it forms part of comprehensive neck rejuvenation.

Neck mesotherapy prices

Face and neck rejuvenating mesotherapy is performed during the same appointment for 300 CHF. Session numbers depend on skin type, initial condition and goals. The initial protocol includes four to six sessions spaced fifteen days apart for gradual, effective regeneration. Maintenance every four months then helps preserve attractive, well-hydrated skin and results.

Is neck mesotherapy painful?

Very fine needles and superficial injections are used. Most patients describe mild tingling, but treatment remains well tolerated. An anaesthetic cream may be applied if necessary.

How long does a session last?

Neck mesotherapy, often combined with facial treatment, lasts an average of 10 minutes. Allow around 30 minutes at the practice including preparation, consultation and aftercare advice.

When do the first results become visible?

Effects appear gradually. From the second or third session, skin looks more hydrated, smoother and more radiant. Firmness and quality continue improving across sessions.

How many sessions are needed?

Initial treatment generally includes four to six sessions spaced fifteen days apart, depending on skin type and goals. Maintenance every four months then prolongs results.

Can activities be resumed after the session?

Yes. Mesotherapy is non-invasive and requires no interruption to social or professional activities. Mild redness or small papules may appear but disappear quickly.

Does mesotherapy treat neck laxity?

It improves skin elasticity, hydration and tone, reducing mild to moderate laxity. Other techniques are indicated for more pronounced laxity.

Are there risks or side effects?

Side effects are generally mild: temporary redness, papules or small bruises. Complications are rare and limited when treatment is performed by a trained doctor.

Can I have mesotherapy in summer?

Yes, mesotherapy can be performed year-round. Simply avoid intense sun exposure for 24 to 48 hours afterwards and apply appropriate sunscreen.

Who is neck mesotherapy for?

It suits women and men wishing to hydrate, smooth, restore density or prevent neck skin ageing without changing volume or freezing expressions.

Does mesotherapy change facial features?

No. It acts on neither volume nor muscle contraction. It improves natural skin quality without changing features or expression.
