MESOTHERAPY BEFORE AN EVENT : HOW LONG BEFORE ?

Dernière mise à jour : 4 August 2026

For fresher, more radiant skin before a wedding, evening event or photo shoot, facial mesotherapy is ideally scheduled around 7 to 10 days beforehand. This allows time for redness, small papules or bruising from the small injections to disappear. It also avoids last-minute treatment if the skin reacts more than expected.

How many days before an event should you have mesotherapy?

An interval of 7 to 10 days provides a reasonable margin before an important event. Scheduling a first session the day before or 48 hours beforehand is not recommended.
Mesotherapy requires multiple very superficial injections. Immediately afterwards, the skin may show redness, small papules at the injection sites and sometimes some bruising. These marks are generally temporary, but their intensity varies according to the patient's skin sensitivity and the technique used.
For a particularly important event, such as a wedding, it is preferable not to try mesotherapy for the first time just a few days beforehand.

Is the glow really immediate after mesotherapy?

The healthy-glow effect generally appears in the days following mesotherapy, once redness and small papules have disappeared. Injecting non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid improves skin hydration, and the skin may become more supple, smoother and more radiant.
Results are therefore not optimal immediately after the session. To enjoy the “glow” while allowing injection marks to disappear, it is preferable to have mesotherapy around 7 to 10 days before the event.

What results can you expect for a wedding or evening event?

Mesotherapy improves skin hydration, radiance and overall appearance, but does not transform facial volume.
It is particularly useful when the skin looks dull, dehydrated or tired. The complexion becomes fresher and the skin more supple.
Mesotherapy does not fill hollow dark circles, lift the cheekbones, correct jowls or eliminate deep wrinkles. These indications require other treatments.
Before an event, its main benefit therefore concerns skin quality rather than changes in facial contours.

Is one session enough for a healthy glow?

One session may suffice if the aim is simply more hydrated, radiant skin for an event. It is then ideally performed 7 to 10 days beforehand.
For a more lasting improvement in skin quality, several sessions are generally needed. Depending on the patient's skin condition, a course of 3 sessions around 2 to 4 weeks apart may be offered.
For a wedding or important event, it is therefore preferable to start mesotherapy 2 to 3 months beforehand if a full course is desired, then schedule the final session sufficiently far from the event.

When should mesotherapy begin before a wedding?

For a wedding, it is preferable to start several weeks to a few months beforehand if several sessions are planned. The last session can then be scheduled around 7 to 10 days before the wedding.
This schedule has two advantages: it provides the benefit of the full course and establishes the skin's reaction in advance.
Having mesotherapy for the first time a few days before the wedding is less prudent. Although after-effects are usually mild, a bruise may remain visible longer than expected.

What marks can occur after facial mesotherapy?

The most visible after-effects are redness, small papules at injection sites, mild swelling and sometimes bruising.
Papules correspond to the small amounts of product deposited in the skin. Their visibility depends on the product, injection depth and technique used.
Bruising is less predictable. A small needle may encounter a superficial vessel and cause a bruise lasting several days. This is one of the main reasons for performing this procedure a week before an event.

Which areas can be treated before an event?

Mesotherapy can be performed on the face, but also on the neck and décolletage when the aim is to improve hydration and skin appearance in these areas.
The choice depends, in particular, on the planned outfit and therefore the visible areas. For a wedding or evening event with an exposed neckline, including the neck and décolletage in the skin preparation programme may be useful.
The amounts injected and the technique are adapted to each area.

Mesotherapy or Skinbooster before an event: what is the difference?

For a healthy glow before an event, mesotherapy is generally more appropriate when the main objective is to improve skin hydration and radiance quickly. It involves superficial injections of small amounts of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, possibly combined with other active ingredients.
Skinboosters are more indicated when a longer-lasting improvement in hydration, suppleness and skin quality is desired. Hyaluronic acid is injected deeper and persists longer in the tissues.
Mesotherapy may therefore be preferred to prepare the skin for a one-off event. For improved skin quality over several months, a Skinbooster may be more suitable.

Can mesotherapy be combined with other treatments before an event?

Yes, but treatments must be planned in the correct order and sufficiently spaced apart.
A peel, laser or other treatment causing skin inflammation should not be added at the last minute simply to achieve more radiance. Irritated or peeling skin is not desirable on the day of the event.
When several treatments are planned, the schedule must be established in advance according to their recovery times.
The more important the event, the less advisable it is to multiply new treatments in the final days.

What should you do after the session to preserve skin radiance?

After mesotherapy, the main priority is to avoid irritating the skin while it recovers from the small injections.
On the day of the session, it is preferable not to massage the face and to avoid scrubs, massage devices and irritating products. Retinol, tretinoin and exfoliating acids should not be applied to skin that is still red or sensitive.
A simple routine of gentle cleansing, moisturising and applying sun protection is sufficient until the skin returns to its usual state.

When should mesotherapy be avoided just before an event?

Mesotherapy is not recommended in the days immediately preceding an event because injections can cause temporary redness, small papules or bruising.
The session must be postponed if there is an infection, active herpes, a lesion or skin inflammation in the treatment area. It is also contraindicated in the event of a known allergy to any component of the injected product.
Mesotherapy injections are postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Certain medical treatments, clotting disorders or ongoing illnesses may also require particular precautions or lead to postponing the session.
Contraindications vary according to the product used. Before any mesotherapy, the doctor therefore checks medical history, allergies and current treatments.

When is the best time for mesotherapy before an event?

To improve complexion radiance before an event, mesotherapy is best performed around 7 to 10 days beforehand. This allows any injection-related redness, papules or bruising to disappear.
If the aim is a longer-lasting improvement in skin quality, the course should begin several weeks to a few months before the event, depending on the product used and number of sessions planned.
Before a wedding or important event, it is preferable not to have a first mesotherapy session at the last minute. In Geneva, sessions can be scheduled according to the event date, skin condition and any other planned treatments.
