FACIAL MESOTHERAPY : MESOLIFT

What is mesolift ?

The facial mesotherapy, also known as mesolift, is based on the targeted injection of active ingredients directly into the dermis, for optimal absorption and enhanced effectiveness.
Unlike creams and serums that remain on the surface, these injections allow the deeper layers of the skin to be reached, thus stimulating cellular regeneration and collagen production.
The most commonly used active ingredients in facial mesotherapy are :
• Hyaluronic acid : hydration.
• Vitamins and minerals : revitalization and radiance of the complexion.
• Antioxidants : protection against skin aging.
• Amino acids : improvement of the skin’s elasticity and firmness.
Depending on the patient’s needs, Doctor Romano selects the most suitable active ingredients for a personalized treatment.

Who is mesolift for ? Indications

Facial mesotherapy is suitable for all skin types, starting from the appearance of signs of fatigue or skin aging. It is particularly indicated in cases of dull complexion, dehydrated skin, loss of firmness, fine lines, enlarged pores or altered skin quality. It is suitable both for young skin wishing to prevent aging and for more mature skin wishing to revitalize its appearance.
Mesolift is also beneficial for patients showing signs of photoaging (prolonged sun exposure having led to deterioration of skin quality). Smokers, whose skin is often asphyxiated and devitalized, particularly benefit from this technique. Skin stressed by urban environments and pollution also finds an effective therapeutic response in it.
The benefits of mesolift are multiple : visible improvement in skin quality, deep hydration, renewed firmness, reduction of superficial wrinkles and enhanced radiance. The face appears rested, the skin more supple and more luminous.

Why does the facial skin age ?

The facial skin is the first to show signs of time, as it is constantly exposed to external aggressions such as sun, pollution, stress, smoking or hormonal variations. Over the years, the natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to a progressive loss of firmness, radiance and hydration. Cellular renewal slows down, microcirculation becomes less effective and the skin weakens, becoming thinner, drier and marked by wrinkles and sagging. It then becomes essential to provide the skin with the elements it lacks to support its natural functions. It is in this context that facial mesotherapy takes on its full meaning, as it directly addresses these biological needs of the skin, often impossible to reach with traditional topical care.

How does a mesolift session work ?

After the initial consultation, Doctor Romano selects the most appropriate active ingredients for the patient’s skin and needs.
The session is performed using a mesotherapy gun. This device is very precise and increases the effectiveness of the session.
The protocol includes four sessions, spaced two to three weeks apart. Afterwards, one maintenance session is recommended every two to three months. On average, each facial mesotherapy session lasts about ten minutes.

Post-treatment care after a Mesolift session

The after-effects of mesolift sessions are minimal, allowing patients to resume their daily activities almost immediately after the injections. However, certain precautions must be followed within the twelve hours following the treatment to maximize the results and avoid the occurrence of side effects :
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure : it is recommended to protect yourself from the sun and avoid UV booth sessions.
• Avoid sauna and steam room : high heat can irritate the skin that has just been treated.
• Do not rub or massage the treated area : this helps preserve the effects of the injections.
• Avoid wearing makeup.

Facial mesotherapy results : before/after mesolift

Mesolift sessions provide multiple benefits, bringing hydration and radiance to the complexion in just a few sessions :
• Skin rejuvenation : mesotherapy helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines by stimulating collagen and elastin production. The skin becomes smoother and firmer.
• Intense hydration : the injections provide deep hydration, thus improving the skin’s quality and elasticity. Well-hydrated skin is more radiant and more resistant to signs of aging.
• Reduction of spots and imperfections : these results are variable and inconsistent.
• Improvement of skin quality : by nourishing the skin with essential nutrients, mesotherapy improves it. The skin becomes softer and more even.
• Skin firmness : a renewed firmness is noticeable.
• Light tightening effect : the skin is plumped and regains its tone.
• Radiance boost : mesotherapy restores radiance to the face by revitalizing dull and tired skin. The face appears fresher and more radiant.
• Evening and improvement of complexion : the skin becomes more luminous and revitalized.
The overall appearance of the skin improves from session to session, the results are visible and long-lasting.
It is rare to have small bruises after a session, these usually disappear within a few days.

Mesotherapy for the face or mesolift : price

The price of a mesolift session in Geneva is 300 CHF. This fee corresponds to a medical procedure performed at the clinic, including a personalized evaluation, the preparation of a blend of active ingredients adapted to the skin’s needs (non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, amino acids…), and the performance of the treatment.
Unlike aesthetic treatments performed in beauty institutes, mesolift is carried out in a medical setting, with sterile equipment and strict protocols. The price also reflects the quality of the injected products and the medical expertise.
The number of sessions required will depend on the condition of the skin, the targeted objectives (revitalization, improvement of complexion, prevention of skin aging) and the desired maintenance frequency. An initial protocol may include several sessions spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions depending on the skin’s evolution.
The annual overall cost depends on the number of sessions.

What are patient reviews on Mesolift ?

Mesotherapy is an aesthetic treatment appreciated by many patients for its revitalizing and rejuvenating effects on the skin.
Patient reviews are mostly positive, with many noticing a significant improvement in skin hydration, elasticity and radiance.
Many also describe a reduction in signs of aging, such as fine lines and pigmentation spots. Nevertheless, these latter results are quite variable.
Mesotherapy is often praised for its beneficial effect on skin quality and complexion uniformity. Feedback also indicates that the treatment has minimal side effects, making it a preferred option for people seeking a non-invasive solution to improve their skin.

Medical literature on mesolift

The medical literature concerning mesolift shows promising but still limited results. A randomized study conducted on 55 women, published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, highlighted a significant improvement in hydration, skin radiance, as well as a slight increase in dermal thickness three months after the sessions. Another study published in 2022 in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery showed that mesotherapy promotes the restoration of skin quality, notably by improving elasticity and complexion brightness. However, a position paper published in the Indian Journal of Dermatology concludes that current evidence remains insufficient and heterogeneous, due to varied protocols, limited sample sizes and follow-ups that are too short. Even if mesolift appears to offer visible and transient benefits in terms of skin quality, its long-term effectiveness and mechanisms of action still need to be confirmed through controlled clinical trials of larger scale and rigorous methodology.
