HOLLYWOOD PEEL OR CARBON PEEL

What is a Hollywood peel?

The Hollywood peel is a laser peel that owes its name to its popularity in the USA, particularly among the stars. Carbon Peel in Geneva

What is Carbon Peel? The Hollywood Peel, or Carbon Laser Peel, is an innovative procedure in aesthetic medicine.

This treatment is a gentle peel which gives a luminous complexion and glow and improves skin texture, leaving it radiant and supple.
This procedure is ideal for patients seeking skin revitalisation without resorting to invasive procedures.

Using a combination of laser and carbon mask, the Hollywood Peel gently exfoliates the skin, eliminates impurities and stimulates collagen production, helping to rejuvenate and deeply cleanse the skin.
The areas treated are the face, neck, décolleté and hands.

  • Rejuvenating effect: by increasing collagen production, Hollywood Peel helps keep skin firm and smooth, reducing wrinkles, fine lines and dilated pores. The result is visibly younger, more radiant skin.
  • Even skin tone : pigmentation spots and skin imperfections are reduced, the complexion becomes more even and luminous.
  • Regulation of sebum production: Hollywood Peel is particularly indicated for oily or acne-prone skin, for its sebum-regulating action.
  • Improved skin texture: by eliminating dead cells, this treatment is a gentle peel that refines skin texture, leaving it smoother and softer.
  • No need to avoid social contact: this is a non-invasive procedure. Healing takes place without any after-effects, and you can resume your usual activities immediately after the session.

What are the indications for the Hollywood peel?

Beautiful skin after hollywood peel

The Hollywood Peel is a treatment that can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté and hands.
It is suitable for all phototypes and all skin types: combination, oily, dry and sensitive.
However, tanned skin is a contraindication.

The aesthetic problems targeted are :

  • Dull complexion: Hollywood Peel brightens the skin by exfoliating dead surface cells. The skin becomes more even, with less pigmentation.
  • Dilated pores: Hollywood Peel densifies the skin and has a sebum-regulating action, visibly reducing the size of pores. Skin texture is refined.
  • Fine lines: the improvement in fine lines is linked to the action on stimulating dermal synthesis. The Hollywood Peel rejuvenates the skin and slows down the ageing process.
  • Acne and acne scars: Hollywood Peel reduces the production of sebum, one of the factors responsible for acne.
The appearance of acne lesions is multifactorial, which is why this dermatosis improves but does not disappear after Carbon Peel sessions.
Some studies describe the benefits of this peel for treating acne scars. According to Dr Romano, the only effective techniques for this indication are the ablative laser and peels.
  • Excess sebum and blackheads.

Hollywood peel or Hydrafacial?

The choice between the Hollywood Peeling and theHydrafacial depends on the desired result and skin type.

The Carbon Laser Peel uses a laser combined with a carbon mask to exfoliate the skin in depth, remove impurities and stimulate collagen production. The result is smoother skin, a more even complexion and a reduction in dilated pores.

The Hydrafacial cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin using a unique vortex technology to remove dead skin cells and infuse hydrating and nourishing serums. Ideal for those seeking intense hydration and radiance enhancement, the Hydrafacial is perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

If you're looking for a treatment that deeply revitalises the skin and treats imperfections, the Hollywood Peel is the right option. If the priority is maximum hydration and immediate radiance, the Hydrafacial is the perfect choice.

How does a Hollywood peel work?

Stage 1
Dr Romano uses a brush to apply a carbon solution specific to this peel to cleansed and disinfected skin.
A first laser pass is performed. The eyes are protected by special goggles.
The area is heated to 43-45°C, allowing the solution to penetrate into the pores, stimulating skin synthesis, increasing the skin's elasticity and improving the skin's elasticity.
destruction of Propionibacteri Acne, the bacteria responsible for acne.

Stage 2
Two or three passes are made to pulverise the carbon particles, creating a peeling effect: the surface layer of the skin is exfoliated and the contents of the pores are destroyed.

Step 3
The laser is set to 'dermal stimulation' mode to densify the skin. Two additional passes are made over the area to be treated.

After the residual carbon particles have been removed, a moisturising cream is applied.
A session of mesolift is often recommended to complete the procedure and provide intense hydration to the skin that has just been exfoliated.

The zones which can be treated during a Carbon Peel session are :

  • The face
  • The neck
  • Cleavage
  • The back of the hands
