How does Skinbooster give you a radiant complexion?

Skinbooster brightens the complexion without adding volume, thanks to its active ingredient, hyaluronic acid.

Deep skin hydration
The hyaluronic acid in skin boosters has an exceptional capacity to retain water, up to 1000 times its molecular weight. Injected into the deep layers of the skin, it attracts and retains water. This deep hydration plumps the skin, making it more supple and reducing signs of dryness and fatigue. Skin regains its natural radiance and the complexion looks more even.

Improved skin texture
Skinbooster injections stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. By strengthening the skin's structure, Skinboosters smooth out fine lines and surface irregularities. Smoother skin reflects light more effectively, contributing to a brighter, more radiant complexion.

Skin regeneration effect
Skinboosters revitalise the skin and gradually improve its quality. New skin cells are healthier and clearer, resulting in a fresher, more radiant complexion.

Reducing skin imperfections
By improving the skin's hydration and texture, Skinboosters reduce skin imperfections such as dilated pores and light scars. More even, blemish-free skin reflects light better, contributing to a more luminous complexion.

This aesthetic medical treatment is particularly well-suited to hydrating the skin and strengthening its structure, without the need for surgery. This technique is less invasive than facelifts, peels and lasers, and has shown excellent results.

What is the difference between a Skinbooster and mesotherapy?

La mesotherapy is a technique for injecting vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid that is not cross-linked, i.e. it is not protected from physiological destruction by a stabilisation process called cross-linking.
The result is slight and temporary. The radiance is real, but several sessions are needed to maintain it.
Skinbooster is a weakly cross-linked hyaluronic acid. The result lasts longer, between six and twelve months, and the skin is firmer and more toned without added volume.
The two treatments can be combined, and this synergistic combination is recommended.
It is advisable to carry out a skinbooster and mesotherapy session on the same day once or twice a year.

Are Skinboosters more effective than Botox?

image slimming the face with botox

Skin boosters and Botox meet different needs and are often used in a complementary way. Skin boosters moisturise and improve skin quality, while Botox treats dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movements. By relaxing the muscles, it prevents the formation of new wrinkles.

If the main objective is to reduce forehead, crow's feet and frown lines, Botox is more suitable. If the aim is to improve skin texture, hydration and radiance, skin boosters are the treatment of choice.

Are Skinboosters more effective than hyaluronic acid?

Skinboosters vs fillers: which is better?
The main aim of skin boosters is to revitalise and refresh the skin without adding volume. They diminish fine lines and incipient skin breakdown.

Fillers such ashyaluronic acid are used to add volume, reshape the face, fill in deep wrinkles and folds, and correct asymmetries. They are injected deeper into the skin or subcutaneous tissue.

The results of skin boosters generally last several months, often between six and twelve months, depending on the type of product and the area treated.
The results of fillers can last between six months and two years, depending on the product used, the area injected and individual metabolism.

Combined approach: for optimum results, a combination of skin boosters and fillers can be used to treat both skin quality and volumetric and structural needs. This approach results in a more harmonious overall rejuvenation.

Is Skinbooster better than Profhilo?

Skinboosters are ideal for patients looking for a rapid improvement in skin hydration, texture and elasticity.
Perfect for people who want to restore radiance and suppleness to their skin, with rapid visible effects.
This method visibly improves wrinkles and fine lines.

Profhilo is stabilised hyaluronic acid, designed not only to moisturise but also to reshape and firm the skin. It acts as a biorevitalising agent, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and improving the overall quality of the skin.

Combined approach: in some cases, a combination of skin boosters and Profhilo can be considered to maximise the benefits of both procedures.

Although the two treatments have different benefits, the choice between Skinboosters and Profhilo will depend on aesthetic objectives and the doctor's recommendations.

If skin laxity and sagging are your main concerns, Profhilo is the ideal treatment. Its bio-remodelling properties exert a lifting effect and improve the overall quality of the skin.
If skin hydration and nutrition are your main objectives, Skinboosters are the best option.

Alternative to Skinboosters

Skinboosters deeply hydrate the skin and improve its radiance, but other aesthetic treatments can give similar results.

  • Mesotherapy, the injection of a mixture of vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants directly into the dermis, revitalises the skin. This technique provides hydration that is superficial and transitory.
  • Chemical peels exfoliate the skin, making it more luminous and uniform. Skin densification is slight, unlike Skinboosters.
  • Fractional lasers, a real alternative to Skinboosters, which densify the skin and improve surface irregularities.

How does a Skinbooster hyaluronic acid session work?

Before anything else, an initial consultation is scheduled at Dr Valéria Romano's surgery in Geneva. The doctor listens to you, works with you to define your objectives and takes stock of your expectations.

This first appointment is an opportunity to determine the appropriate injection protocol.

In practical terms, this aesthetic medical treatment is performed on clean, disinfected skin. Dr Romano then proceeds with the injection:

  • Or using a needle and several injections.
  • Or with a micro cannula with 1 or 2 entry points per hemiface. For the injection of this product, Dr Romano only uses the cannula, unless requested by the patient, in order to reduce the appearance of haematomas and stimulate collagen synthesis.

There are two types of Skinbooster: Restylane Vital Ligth and Restylane Vital. Dr Romano uses only the latter, which contains a higher dose of hyaluronic acid.

What is the Skinboosters protocol?

The injection protocol depends on the type of skin.

  • For young skin: for treatment of the face, two syringes are injected during the first session. For treatment of the neck and décolleté, four syringes are required. For maintenance treatment, one or two syringes are used every six months.
  • For mature skin: for facial treatment, two syringes are injected at the first session and repeated two months later. The maintenance protocol involves injecting one or two syringes every six months.

For younger skin, Restylane Vital Ligth can be used, but Restylane Vital is still preferable. For mature skin, Restylane Vital is used.

At what age can I have Skinbooster injections?

image of skin densification using fillers

Skinbooster injections can be considered at different ages.
It all depends on the specific needs of the skin rather than age.
There is no 'minimum' age for starting Skinboosters injections, but the approach should always be tailored to each patient's skin condition and aesthetic goals. A prior consultation with an experienced doctor is essential to determine the ideal time to start this treatment.

FROM THE AGE OF 25-30: PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE

Objective: to prevent the first signs of ageing and maintain optimum skin hydration.

Why: at this age, the natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid begins to slow down. Skinboosters preserve the skin's youthful appearance, improve radiance and prevent the appearance of the first fine lines.

FROM THE AGE OF 30-40: CORRECTION OF THE FIRST SIGNS OF SKIN AGEING

Objective: to correct the first visible signs of skin ageing, such as loss of elasticity and the appearance of fine lines.

Why: Skin boosters restore lost moisture, improve skin texture and provide a slight lifting effect.

FROM AGE 40 AND OVER: OVERALL REJUVENATION

Objective: to treat deeper wrinkles, loss of volume and loss of skin elasticity.

Why: at this age, the skin often needs greater stimulation to regain its radiance and firmness. Skinboosters can be used in combination with other beauty treatments for an overall, natural rejuvenation of the face.

What are the contraindications to Skinboosters?

skinbooster vs mesotherapy diagram

Skinbooster is a very slightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and the contraindications are the same as for hyaluronic acid injections.

  • Known allergy to lidocaine, an anaesthetic added by the laboratory.
  • Infection or inflammation of the skin at the injection site.
  • Coagulation disorders.
  • If you are taking anticoagulant medication, this is a relative contraindication. Dr Romano does not give injections to patients on anticoagulants.
  • Hepatitis (risk of granuloma formation if interferon is taken).
  • Autoimmune diseases.
  • Presence of non-absorbable product or material (prosthesis or plate) at the injection site.
  • Active general infection.

What are the side effects of Skinbooster?

Did you know that hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body? This explains why it is so well tolerated by the body. Side effects following an injection are rare. When they do occur, they are limited in time and of low intensity. They are identical to those observed with conventional hyaluronic acid injections.

Like any aesthetic treatment, in fact, Skinboosters injections can cause certain undesirable effects, but no social eviction is necessary.

  • Redness and slight swelling
  • Ecchymosis: small haematomas may be observed in 30% of cases.
  • Pain or tenderness: slight pain or tenderness may be felt around the injection site, but this quickly subsides during the day.
  • Small nodules or irregularities under the skin: this is a reaction linked to post-injection inflammation. This side effect is not constant and disappears within one to two weeks. The persistence of irregularities is linked to a technical error (poor injection).

Is it possible to carry out other aesthetic medicine treatments during a Skinbooster session?

Is it possible to carry out other aesthetic medicine treatments during a Skinbooster session?

Skinbooster: the beauty solution for a younger face

At every stage of life, the skin undergoes changes. Sensitive, babies' skin is naturally soft and supple. Aren't we talking about a " baby's skin "Do you think that acne can be used to describe beautiful skin that's pleasant to the touch? Around adolescence, outbreaks of acne can damage the skin on the face and leave lasting marks (indentations, etc.). Then, as we age, skin cells regenerate less quickly, leading to a loss of elasticity and suppleness. Fatigue and stress have a damaging impact on the skin, accentuating this phenomenon. The result: dull skin and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Various medical techniques have been developed to combat the effects of ageing and help skin regain its youthful appearance. The ultimate solution for rejuvenating facial skin and tightening facial features is Skinbooster hyaluronic acid. Used since the 1990s in aesthetic medicine, this product - naturally present in the body - has proved its effectiveness in anti-ageing procedures by giving the skin a luminous complexion.
Skinboosters are made up of fine particles of very weakly cross-linked hyaluronic acid. The composition of these molecules gives them a long-lasting action. These substances, which are unique on the market, act like regenerators, providing a real "skin-boosting" effect. a facelift "The effects are long-lasting.
