MEDICAL FACELIFT: 5 LIFT POINTS

What is the "5 Points Lift"?

The "5 Point Lift" , also known as lifting by injections, is a non-invasive technique for facial rejuvenation. The product used, Profhilo, is a bio-remodelling agent that stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin. This treatment is unique in that it does not fill hollows or restore volumes, but acts as a genuine stimulator of skin synthesis.
Profhilo is a stabilised hyaluronic acid which, once injected, integrates evenly into the tissues, enabling the texture, tone and elasticity of the skin to be improved. The special feature of this method is that it is injected at five strategic points on each side of the face, to achieve an overall, harmonious lifting effect.

What is sagging skin on the face?

Skin ageing is a natural phenomenon that we all face as we age. From the age of 25 or 30, the skin gradually begins to lose its elasticity and firmness. The collagen and elastin fibres that ensure the skin's structure and tone break down over time. At the same time, the natural production of hyaluronic acid diminishes, leading to a loss of hydration and volume. This deterioration is often exacerbated by various external factors such as:
- Exposure to UV rays and free radicals.
- Pollution.
- Smoking.
- Poor diet and lack of hydration.
- Oxidative stress linked to the modern lifestyle.
These elements combined lead to the appearance of wrinkles, loss of volume and sagging of skin tissue, particularly visible in certain areas such as the cheeks, the oval of the face and the neck. It is against this backdrop that demand for non-invasive treatments to combat sagging skin has risen sharply, and innovative solutions have been devised, such as the 5-Point Lift with Profhilo or the 8-point medical lift.

What causes sagging skin?

Several factors contribute to skin sagging and the appearance of signs of ageing.
- Biological ageing: the progressive loss of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid makes the skin thinner and less resistant. The reabsorption of fat and bone aggravates this phenomenon. <Sun exposure: UV rays accelerate the breakdown of collagen and encourage the appearance of wrinkles.
- Stress: chronic stress causes the production of cortisol, which accelerates cellular ageing.
- Lifestyle habits: smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet, lack of exercise and insufficient hydration also contribute to the loss of skin tone.
These factors worsen over time, making non-invasive facelift solutions particularly interesting for treating the signs of ageing.

Indications for 5 Point Lift

The 5 Points Lift is indicated for patients who wish to improve their face naturally, without resorting to surgery. The main indications are:
- Moderate skin sagging: for people who start to notice a loss of firmness in the cheeks, the cheekbones, the mandible line and the neck.
- The first signs of skin ageing: fine wrinkles, dull, dehydrated skin, loss of elasticity.
- The anti-ageing prevention: for patients who want to preserve the youthfulness of their skin and slow the appearance of the signs of ageing.
- The tired face: this treatment revitalises and restores radiance to devitalised skin.
This treatment is particularly suitable for patients aged between 30 and 60 who want to improve skin elasticity, hydration and firmness and who are looking for a lifting effect without resorting to surgery.

photo instructions before face injection

Course of the session

The session is quick and virtually painless.
Before any injection, an initial consultation is essential to assess the patient's specific needs and determine whether the 5 Points Lift is suitable for them. The face is carefully disinfected and an anaesthetic cream may be applied for the patient's comfort. Dr Romano does not apply an anaesthetic to avoid irritating the skin. <Dr Romano then performs injections using a needle or cannula at 5 strategic points on each side of the face. Once injected, the hyaluronic acid integrates evenly into the deep layers of the skin.

Instructions before a 5 Point Lift session

Certain instructions should be followed to optimise results and avoid side effects.
- Avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and aspirin in the days leading up to the session to limit the risk of bleeding and bruising.
- Avoid drinking alcohol the day before and the day of the session. Alcohol increases the risk of bruising.

Instructions after a 5 Point Lift session

- Do not massage the injected areas to avoid displacing the product.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, intense cold and sporting activities for 48 hours.
- Do not apply make-up to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Follow any additional advice from your doctor.

When to treat? Frequency of sessions

The effects of 5 Point Lift are visible after 2 to 3 weeks. For optimum results, two sessions are recommended, one month apart. Thereafter, maintenance sessions are recommended every 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient's metabolism and expectations.

Possible side effects

As with any aesthetic treatment, although the risks are minimal, it is important to be aware of the possible side effects
- Redness and slight swelling at the injection points
- Sensation of heat or tingling in the treated areas
- Small bruises that resolve in a few days
These effects are temporary and generally disappear in less than 48 hours. The 5 Points Lift is a safe procedure (if carried out by an experienced doctor) with a high satisfaction rate.

The results: what can you expect after 5 Points Lift?

The 5 Points Lift delivers visible, long-lasting results. Patients describe an improvement in skin firmness, elasticity and hydration. The face appears visibly smoother, younger and more toned - in short, a natural lifting effect with no change in volume. The results are progressive and become more pronounced after a few weeks, as the hyaluronic acid integrates into the tissues and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.
These results last between 6 and 12 months, depending on the patient's skin type, metabolism and lifestyle.
