Who is mesolift for?
Indications
Facial mesotherapy suits all skin types from the first signs of fatigue or ageing. It is particularly indicated for a dull complexion, dehydrated skin, loss of firmness, fine wrinkles, enlarged pores or impaired skin quality. It suits both younger skin seeking to prevent ageing and more mature skin seeking revitalisation.
Mesolift is also useful for patients with photoageing (prolonged sun exposure that has damaged skin quality). Smokers, whose skin is often oxygen-deprived and lacking vitality, particularly benefit. Skin stressed by urban environments and pollution also finds an effective therapeutic response.
Benefits include visibly improved skin quality, deep hydration, renewed firmness, reduced superficial wrinkles and a radiant complexion. The face looks rested, with more supple, luminous skin.
Why does facial skin
age?
Facial skin is the first to show signs of time because it is constantly exposed to external aggressors such as sun, pollution, stress, smoking and hormonal changes. Over the years, natural collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production declines, gradually reducing firmness, radiance and hydration. Cellular renewal slows, microcirculation becomes less efficient and skin becomes fragile, thinner, drier and marked by wrinkles and laxity. Providing the elements skin lacks to support its natural functions then becomes essential. This is where facial mesotherapy is particularly relevant, directly meeting biological skin needs that conventional topical skincare often cannot reach.

What happens during a session
mesolift session?
After the initial consultation, Dr Romano selects the ingredients best suited to the patient's skin and needs.
A mesotherapy gun is used during the session. This highly precise device increases treatment effectiveness.
The protocol involves four sessions spaced two to three weeks apart. A maintenance session every two to three months is then recommended. Each facial mesotherapy session lasts around ten minutes on average.
Recovery after a mesolift session
After-effects of mesolift are minimal, allowing patients to resume everyday activities almost immediately after injections. Certain precautions must nevertheless be followed during the twelve hours afterwards to maximise results and avoid side effects:
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure: sun protection is recommended, and sunbed sessions should be avoided.
• Avoid saunas and steam rooms: intense heat can irritate freshly treated skin.
• Do not rub or massage the treated area, to preserve injection effects.
• Avoid applying make-up.

Facial mesotherapy results: before / after mesolift
Mesolift sessions offer multiple benefits, providing hydration and complexion radiance in just a few sessions:
• Skin rejuvenation: mesotherapy helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines by stimulating collagen and elastin production. Skin becomes smoother and firmer.
• Intense hydration: injections provide deep hydration, improving skin quality and elasticity. Well-hydrated skin is more radiant and more resistant to signs of ageing.
• Reduction of pigmentation and imperfections: these results are variable and inconsistent.
• Improved skin quality: mesotherapy improves skin by providing essential nutrients. Skin becomes softer and more uniform.
• Skin firmness: a renewed firmness is perceptible.
• Mild tightening effect: skin is plumped and regains tone.
• Radiance boost: mesotherapy restores facial radiance by revitalising dull, tired skin. The face looks fresher and more radiant.
• More even, improved complexion: skin becomes more luminous and revitalised.
Overall skin appearance improves with each session, with visible, lasting results.
Small bruises are rare after a session and generally disappear within a few days.
Facial mesotherapy or mesolift: prices
A mesolift session in Geneva costs 300 CHF. This covers a medical procedure performed at the practice, including personalised assessment, preparation of an ingredient mixture tailored to skin needs (non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc.) and treatment itself.
Unlike beauty salon treatments, mesolift is performed in a medical setting with sterile equipment and rigorous protocols. The price also reflects product quality and medical expertise.
The number of sessions depends on skin condition, goals (revitalisation, improved complexion, prevention of skin ageing) and desired maintenance frequency. An initial protocol may involve several sessions spaced a few weeks apart, followed by occasional maintenance according to skin changes.
Total annual cost depends on the number of sessions.
What do patients think of mesolift?
Many patients appreciate mesotherapy for its revitalising and rejuvenating effects on skin.
Patient feedback is mainly positive, reporting notable improvement in hydration, elasticity and radiance.
Many also describe reduced signs of ageing, such as fine lines and pigmentation. These latter results nevertheless vary considerably.
Mesotherapy is often praised for improving skin quality and evening the complexion. Feedback also reports minimal side effects, making it a preferred option for those seeking a non-invasive skin improvement solution.
Medical literature on mesolift
Medical literature on mesolift reports promising but still limited results. A randomised study of 55 women, published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, found significantly improved hydration and skin radiance, with a slight increase in dermal thickness three months after sessions. Another study published in 2022 in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery found that mesotherapy helps restore skin quality, particularly by improving elasticity and complexion radiance. However, a position paper in the Indian Journal of Dermatology concludes that current evidence remains insufficient and heterogeneous because of varied protocols, small samples and short follow-up periods. Although mesolift appears to offer visible, temporary skin quality benefits, its long-term effectiveness and mechanisms of action still need confirmation through larger controlled clinical trials with rigorous methodology.
A multicentre randomised trial involving 448 adults compared three monthly sessions of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid micro-injections with usual care without injections. The treated group showed greater improvement in hydration, elasticity, texture and fine lines, up to four weeks after the final session. These results concern the solution and protocol studied; evaluators were unaware of the treatment assigned.

A study involving 64 women assessed four biorevitalisation sessions three weeks apart, using a solution combining hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Instrumental measurements showed improved radiance, deep hydration and eye-contour wrinkles during twelve weeks of follow-up. These results concern this formulation in a study without a control group for these rejuvenation criteria.

A clinical study followed 24 participants with mild to moderate photoageing after three sessions of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid injections three weeks apart. Measured skin hydration increased significantly, with moderate improvement in texture and complexion and high participant satisfaction. These observations concern the gel studied, in a small trial without a control group funded by its manufacturer.
