Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne repose sur plusieurs m\u00e9canismes biologiques cl\u00e9s.<\/p><ul><li>Augmentation du renouvellement cellulaire\u00a0: pendant le sommeil profond, l\u2019organisme lib\u00e8re davantage d\u2019hormone de croissance, qui stimule le renouvellement des cellules \u00e9pidermiques et la synth\u00e8se de collag\u00e8ne. Ce processus est indispensable au maintien de l\u2019\u00e9lasticit\u00e9 et de la fermet\u00e9 cutan\u00e9e.<\/li><li>R\u00e9paration de l\u2019ADN et des dommages oxydatifs\u00a0: le stress oxydatif g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 au cours de la journ\u00e9e (pollution, UV, inflammation) laisse des l\u00e9sions mol\u00e9culaires dans les cellules cutan\u00e9es. D\u00e8s quelques nuits insuffisantes, on peut observer des modifications visibles de la peau, qui s\u2019aggravent avec le temps si le d\u00e9ficit devient chronique.<\/p><ul><li>Apparition de ridules et perte d\u2019\u00e9lasticit\u00e9 : le manque de sommeil r\u00e9duit la production de collag\u00e8ne et favorise la d\u00e9gradation des fibres \u00e9lastiques. Il en r\u00e9sulte une perte de tonicit\u00e9 de la peau, l\u2019apparition de ridules, puis de rides plus marqu\u00e9es.<\/li><li>Ralentissement de la r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration cellulaire : le manque de repos perturbe le cycle naturel de renouvellement des k\u00e9ratinocytes. Lorsque la r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration cellulaire ralentit, la peau perd de son \u00e9clat et devient plus terne, plus irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re au toucher et plus vuln\u00e9rable face aux agressions ext\u00e9rieures. Ce contexte hormonal induit une inflammation de bas grade, responsable de la d\u00e9gradation pr\u00e9matur\u00e9e des tissus cutan\u00e9s et de l\u2019aggravation de nombreuses dermatoses (rosac\u00e9e, acn\u00e9, ecz\u00e9ma).<\/li><li>Aggravation du rel\u00e2chement :\u00a0 le manque de sommeil acc\u00e9l\u00e8re le rel\u00e2chement du visage. Priv\u00e9e du temps de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration dont elle a besoin, la peau perd progressivement de sa fermet\u00e9. La tonicit\u00e9 musculaire diminue, le derme devient moins dense, et les tissus de soutien s\u2019affaiblissent.
